Positives:

  • Child-friendly facilities: Nursing rooms, diaper tables, and baby-buggy rentals are available on the deck level.
  • Stroller support: Strollers can be parked before boarding and borrowed at the 4F ticket lobby.

Challenges:

  • Elevator wait times: Peak hours (11 AM–1 PM, 5 PM–7 PM) can have lineups; prepare kids for a short wait.
  • Fear of heights: Some children may feel uneasy near floor-to-ceiling glass panels; bring a small toy for comfort.

What is Tokyo Skytree?

  • A neo-futuristic steel lattice tower reaching 634 meters, making it the world’s tallest freestanding broadcasting structure
  • Hosts two enclosed observation decks at 350 and 450 meters, designed as integral elements of its vertical architecture
  • Incorporates a tuned mass damper within its central column to mitigate seismic vibrations and ensure uninterrupted broadcasting

What is so special about Tokyo Skytree for with kids?

  1. Ride the fastest elevator to world’s tallest tower decks
  2. Walk the glass tunnel 450 m above Tokyo for sweeping views
  3. Join the Toy Story 30th-anniversary event with kids’ exhibits
  4. Use the indoor playground and family-friendly amenities
  5. Grab snacks or limited-edition merch at the Skytree cafe

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for both observation decks, the glass tunnel, the Toy Story event, and a quick break at the cafe without rushing kids.

This was a fun experience, although kind of expensive. And American dollars. It was almost 40 bucks for an adult and a kid to go to both the 350 meter and the 450 meter observation decks. Sure! There's souvenir shops and restaurants up there if you really want to spend the time, but it also means spending more money and paying too much. We went at 9:00. It was a beautiful and wanted cedar City wid...

Overall, I would say, this was a great experience. It's a little pricey, but you can definitely take your time and really enjoy yourself plus there seems to be no rush. There's plenty of places where you could just stay up there and relax for hours if you really wanted to you could take a drawing pad. Up there and stand in the standing section on the way down and just stare outside, they also have...

Fantastic views across all of Tokyo with 2 separate observation decks. Helpful staff, plenty of good photo opportunities, stamps and a bar serving drinks and snacks overlooking Tokyo. Was pretty busy as it was early afternoon, if we where to go again i would want to go at night to see the city lit up and hopefully less crowds. They had a Detective Conan celebration whilst we where there which my w...

This was such a great experience again. This time we took our 10 month old. He absolutely loved looking out of the windows to Tokyo below. The Conan exhibit was such a great touch as well. He thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to go again when he is a bit older. Definitely worth it.

I visited Tokyo Skytree in August 2024, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The tower itself is stunning, and as one of the tallest structures in the world, the view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Tokyo spread out below youit feels like standing above the clouds. The observation decks were spacious and well-organized, with clear glass panels that...
