How Kids-Friendly is Roppongi Hills?

School-age children race down RoboRobo slides, explore free indoor play zones and koi ponds, while parents rotate to museum or cinema; child toilets, nursing rooms and plazas help logistics.

Considerations for visiting Roppongi Hills (with kids)

Positives:

  • Family-Friendly Entry: Children 4–12 enter the art museum free with a paying adult.
  • Free Play & Rest Areas: Multiple indoor and outdoor play spaces plus nursing and diaper rooms are free.

Challenges:

  • Elevator Wait Times: Lines for the express elevators to 52nd floor can form at peak hours.
  • Weekend Crowds: Play areas and garden paths get busy on weekends from late morning onward.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time to visit the observatory, garden, play areas and art museum at a relaxed pace for kids.

Such a pity that I discovered this place on my last day in Tokyo. Am really not a mall rat but i do like the way this place was made. While most shops were still closed when I explored this place on a Sunday morning, I am sure that Roppongi Hills not only offers shopping but culture as well. You would be able to fund a personal spot just to absorb how magnificent the city pf Tokyo is!

Relaxing and the library is very nice. There are tables and rooms available for rental to use. Lots of office workers rent the space to work. You can choose hourly or daily rental. Rooms are for maximum six people. Lots if different type of books and magazine, most are wrapped and unable to be just open and read. There is some clothing being sold as well. If you have spare time or quiet space to w...

We stepped into this shopping centre to escape the rain, but were pleasantly surprised by how luxurious and beautiful it was. While wandering around, we accidentally came across the Love Machine Museum, which turned out to be a fantastic and unexpected highlight. A fun and stylish place to explore — even more enjoyable when it’s wet outside!

I visited here last Christmas, and it was a wonderful experience. The light decorations were beautiful and really set the holiday mood. Despite the large crowds, I enjoyed walking around and taking everything in. There’s also a shopping center nearby if you're interested in doing some shopping. Overall, it was a fun and festive experience!
