What makes it 70% Couple-Friendly: Couples can share meals, massages, hot-stone add-on and TV lounge, yet all bathing zones are gender-segregated, so soaking apart cuts romance and limits joint onsen time compared with mixed spas.
Why 1-1.5 days visit duration is ideal for couple trip: The onsen’s 24-hour access, multiple spa zones, massages and dining options fill a full day and overnight stay.
Relax in Large Natural Baths:
Soak in indoor pools fed from a 2 km deep spring.
Tip: Visit after sunset for fewer guests and a tranquil atmosphere.
Watch in the Viewing Spa:
Sit together in the carbonated bath or stone sauna and watch live TV.
Tip: Catch sports or music videos early morning when it’s quiet.
Book the Löyly Hot Stone Spa:
Lie side-by-side on heated stone beds topped with natural minerals.
Tip: Reserve at reception on arrival to secure adjacent slots.
Enjoy a Couple Massage:
Choose shiatsu or oil treatments in adjoining rooms.
Tip: Book the 60 min session at reception; arrive 10 min early.
Dine at Restaurant Yurari:
Share Japanese, Western or Chinese set meals made with Toyama rice.
Tip: Order by 9 pm last call to relax over dinner without rush.

Just spent 3 hours, before our flight home. Loved it! The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was our first time to an onsen. Not as English friendly as other places in Tokyo but we made it through just going with the flow and asking for help. Lots of free luggage storage. Had lunch. Just pay for everything with your wristband. Husband got great massage too. Would like to go back some day.

It was great experience! I arrived early flight so I came to the spa. I could rest a little bit, there are enought lounge for all, 3 rooms. It was very refreshing and healing. I felt new! The only thing I didn't like is in the morning the cleaning lady turned on all the light of the lounge and start making lots of noise. The experience was excellent and comparing with another onsens, this one can ...

This was within walking distance from my hotel. I visited twice during my vacation and enjoyed both times. The water is the perfect temperature, staff was helpful and polite. I had an amazing visit both times. The only issue I had at all was that this was the one place in Japan with machines that didn't like my US credit cards so had to pay in cash.

I always stop relaxing at Heiwajima Onsen while a long wait for my next flight. This place is perfect for hanging out if you don’t want to explore downtown. The facility includes shower, onsen, sauna, steam room, restaurant, snack shop, spa for fee, relaxing room and tv room. I landed at Haneda at 6AM and spent 7 hours at the onsen for late afternoon flight. How to get there: Use Keikyu line at ...

After walking around for 2 hours in the Tokyo summer humidity a nice bath felt amazing and relaxing. The water temp is nice and hot. And compared to plane seats, you will get an amazing night sleep in the relaxation lounge (though you might need some ear plugs and an eye mask if you s...
Winter soaks feel extra soothing in cold weather. Summer evenings are quieter after sunset. Visit on weekdays to avoid weekend crowds.
