What makes it 66% Baby-Friendly: Cable car accepts open strollers and there are nursing rooms and diaper tables at stations, but many stairs near temple, uneven summit paths, and long exposure to weather tire babies and parents.
Why 3-5 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This time lets you ride the cable car, explore trails at a gentle pace, and include baby-care breaks without rushing.
Cable Car Ride:
Take the stroller-friendly cable car from Takaosanguchi to Takaosan Station.
Tip: Board early to secure a seat with stroller space and enjoy forest views.
Fumoto Park Play:
Let your baby crawl or sit by the shallow stream and benches at the base.
Tip: Pack a small mat for extra comfort and change near the river steps.
Nursing at Takao-san Sumika:
Use the private nursing room inside the Sumika shop next to the upper cable car station.
Tip: Ask staff to open the staff room and carry a nursing cover for quick privacy.
Summit Visitor Center:
Visit the Visitor Center at the top for indoor seating and mountain views.
Tip: Feed your baby here on a bench and use the diaper-changing tables nearby.

Incredible walks. We took the chairlift up and the cable car down. Great fun!!! We walked to the temple but didn't make the visitor's centre. The monkey park was fun!

A famous hiking destination for foreign and local tourists while in Takao. You can hike all the way from the train station to the summit or take the cable car then hike to the summit. On a clear day other surrounding mountains are visible from the top of Mt Takao.

One of the best hikes of my life. The flora here is beautiful ! With wild lilies and orchids growing on the trees. The stream which you must cross in order to reach the mountain is a good stop to cool down at ( perfectly placed: mid-way to the top!).. little shrines and even a temple to be seen on your way up !

Lots of different paths to choose from with the main path being nice and wide. Not much to see at the top but it is a good hike if you want your legs to burn. The first half of the hike is much harder so taking the cable car would help

Mid-November is peak for red leaves; visit on weekdays for fewer crowds. Late April brings mild weather and fresh spring blossoms. Avoid June’s rainy season when paths get slippery.
