What makes it 79% Baby-Friendly: Babies are admitted; free stroller rental, elevators, nursing room, and diaper tables help carers, but low-light galleries and the need for silence can force parents to step out if the infant cries.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: 2-3 hours gives time to see the main exhibits, use baby facilities, and stroll the Mori Garden without rushing.
Wander the rotating exhibitions:
Enjoy the current contemporary art show at your own pace with your baby.
Tip: Use stroller-friendly routes and pause at seating areas near larger works.
Photograph the ‘Maman’ sculpture:
See the giant bronze spider on 66 Plaza just outside the museum entrance.
Tip: The open plaza gives space for strollers; visit in the morning to avoid crowds.
Use baby facilities:
Find nursing rooms, diaper-changing stations, and multipurpose restrooms on each floor.
Tip: Ask staff on the 2nd floor for the nursing room key and use elevators for stroller access.
Rest at bench seating:
Take breaks on benches in gallery corridors between rooms.
Tip: Plan feeding or napping breaks at these quiet spots away from displays.
Stroll Mori Garden:
Let your baby enjoy fresh air and watch koi fish in the garden below.
Tip: Access the garden from the ground floor; bring a light blanket for sitting.

One of my more beloved art museums. Their exhibits rotate quite regularly, which is impressive. The artist selection is always at the forefront of modern art and looking into the future. So you will find a lot of topics relating to the digital and technology. Spaces are always well curated. Staff lovely and the entire museum seems very organised. Themed meals are super cute too.

WOWOWOOWW speechless!!! Highly recommend this place, it was truly an experience entering this art building. They welcome you with such grace, soft ambience and even has cool art clothing/pieces for you to look at whilst you have an amazing view of Tokyo! We decided to come visit this place because Shibuya sky tower was booked out way in advance and the time slots at night was sold out as well. We ...

Caught the AI/digital exhibition while I was there, surprisingly thoughtful and well put together. The curation balanced tech and concept nicely, without tipping too far into gimmick. Finishing with that sweeping city view never gets old. Always a bit of a mixed bag here depending on the exhibitions, but when it hits, it really works. 🤌🏼

If this genre of art is yours then this museum is for you. 2200 yen entry for the basic ticket, 30 mins and all was completed. They do have a cool gift shop with some funky art stuff to buy. If the weather is good then the Observatory Deck would be great.

The Mori is currently showing a special exhibit called Machine Love which examines the intersection of contemporary art with AI, virtual reality, and gaming. Not really my thing. For me, the most interesting part of the exhibit was a piece called Calculating Empires, an 80 ft. timeline which charts how power and technology have been intertwined since the 1500’s and how we got to where we are with...
In spring, pause at Mori Garden to see cherry blossoms. On rainy days, the indoor galleries keep you dry. In winter evenings, enjoy a cozy, quieter visit after dark.
