This is a small historical and traditional Japanese hotel. No modern bed. One sleeps on a cushion on tatami. It is located next to the Botanical Garden of University of Hokkaido.

We stayed for two nights at Nakamuraya Ryokan and it was excellent. The location was close to Odori Park and convenient to where we wanted to go. We loved the tatami room, and both of us found the futons and pillows very comfortable. The public bath was clean, quiet, and relaxing. It is a traditional ryokan where you sleep on the mattress on the tatami floor. The room (and everything in the hotel) is pretty dated and looks two centuries ago, but they are at least will maintained and clean.but room is HUGE by Japanese standard.
