Jozankei View Hotel (solo trip)

My stay felt like I was on a cruise, but better! Lobby & Check-in: A Lobby was welcoming and has a nice scent. Stayed here as a solo guest on November 13–14, 2025. Pros: Great amenities with multiple onsens (indoor, outdoor, rooftop) and both wood and cold steam rooms. Breakfast buffet is decent. There’s a free shuttle to Sapporo Station, and it’s probably the cheapest full-service hotel in Jozankei. Cons: Rooms are very dated with old upholstery, manual door locks, and an outdated TV. The hotel provides a shuttle bus pick-up from Sapporo Station (Bus Terminal), but reservations can only be made by phone call. Email requests are not accepted. We arrived on a Sunday, and the bus was already fully packed when leaving Sapporo Station, so it is best to book early. It is a large hotel with plenty of amenities, ranging from onsen, game room, water park, souvenir shop etc. Room is fine, look a bit ages. Dinner is a buffet in a large dining area, very packed during peak meal time.

Very disappointing experience for the price (about 33,000 yen per night). The hotel has a strange and inconvenient policy(if this is even a policy because we didn't know it before) : they only come to set up the futon between 18:00–21:00. Our room the maid came at 20.15hrs!!!! That means you cannot rest, lie down, or take a nap at all during the day, even though you’re paying a premium price. For ...
