Grand Park Otaru (with kids)

​This hotel is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, but the rooms were very basic. They had an old, small TV. Although some staff very friendly and it was very clean. ​We thought the check-out was at 11 am as is common in Europe. They called us at 11 am and asked us to leave right away. Recommended to get the sea view room. We managed to catch a rainbow. Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is connected to some shops and Aeon via a covered link, which is quite convenient.

This is the first hotel has coffee ration for the in room coffee maker, one per customer per day. If you want more, you have to pay, 100yen each. Sucks for heavy coffee drinkers. No electrical outlets at end tables, you have to request extension cords and they seemed to be prepared for such requests, handing it to you right away at the front desk. No bottled water. A touristy hotel had seen its better days. Walkable distance to Otaru Chikko station, about 2 miles from the canal and other major attractions. A pretty worn out hotel, stains on sofa and floor carpet. Better stay in Otaru train station canal area.

Beautiful hotel, space room. If you have your own transportation, good. About 20min walk to JR station. No bus service to the attraction area, have to take the train, then take the bus about 1 hour+ or Taxi. But they are next to a mall, which has supermarket, a lots others. Good enough to spend whole day. Only bad is, one of the front desk guy very very rude, I stay 3 nights with 2 rooms. We didn'...
