Fairfield by Marriott Sapporo (with baby)

Fab breakfast spread, with many traditional Japanese and international options. The best Egg Benedict I've had ever (I choose salmon). Arigato gozaimashita, chef/master! Great location, big room. Overall, much nicer than the Tokyo 5-star I stayed in. The underground walkway to Sapporo Station is just 200 m away, very useful in the summer heat and rain, and winter snow.

Stayed for 2 nights over peak travel season. Carpark was full when we arrived, but there were plenty of parking nearby, some cheaper than others. Room is clean and simple, no complaints. Bathroom could do with some updating. Walls are thin (as with most Japanese hotels), I could faintly hear hairdyers go on and ipads used to entertain kids. Quite a convenient location being next to Nijo market and a few blocks to the Susukino area. Hotel is fairly new and in good condition. Keep in mind that Fairfield brand doesn't offer many amenities of other Marriott Bonvoy brands for elite members.

A great hotel right in the heart of Sapporo—so central, you might start thinking you’re the city’s mayor. Clean rooms, great service, and easy access to everywhere. Honestly, the only way they could make it more convenient is if they carried you to your destination.

Very satisfied with the hotel and the services! Staff were friendly, courteous and spoke good English. We had good views overlooking the canal. But the part I loved the most was the location! So near Nijo market, you could see the TV Tower from the hotel and very near the Tanukikoji shopping street! Recommended and will be back.
