What makes it 58% Baby-Friendly: Babies enter free and paths suit strollers, yet toilets lack diaper tables and no nursing room, so parents must bring gear and may struggle in winter winds.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Gives enough time to enjoy the deck, meet sheep, and take snack breaks without rushing.
Observation Deck View:
Climb the stroller-friendly deck for 360° views of Sapporo Dome and sheep pastures.
Tip: Gate turns may be narrow; ask staff to hold the gate when rolling a stroller.
Sheep-Field Stroll:
Walk along the fenced pasture to see sheep grazing up close.
Tip: Use a stroller or baby carrier and keep a safe distance from pen fences.
Hitsujigaoka Footbath Spot:
Adults can soak feet in warm scallop-filtered water while baby watches from a bench.
Tip: Bring a towel for baby to sit on and keep baby away from hot water edges.
Austria House Snack Break:
Enjoy lavender or milk soft-serve and browse souvenirs at the on-site café.
Tip: Choose the mild milk flavor to soothe baby’s palate and sit at a shaded table.
Snow Festival Museum:
Explore indoor displays of Hokkaido’s famous snow festival.
Tip: The flat, quiet space is perfect for stroller rest and baby feeding.

From the top of the hill, you can see a vast and faraway view. There are several buildings and exhibitions to see around, as well as a small lavender field in the back. Despite the name "Hill of Sheep," there are only a few sheep to see. The sheep pens are currently undergoing renovation, I believe. The souvenir shop has good items, and it's a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy some delicious so...

It’s a pleasant place with nice views of the city and a nice grassy area with lavender in summer (and some sheep fields). But it’s expensive (¥1000 per person when we went) and if you are from somewhere with sheep and grassy spaces, you might feel it’s a bit familiar!

The entrance fee is 1000 yen per person. At noon there is no sheep for taking photo ,I don't know when they will let sheeps outside.

Nice place. But it is very expensive. When we went in, the entrance fee was more than 1000 yen. There was not much to see in summer, a bit disappointed. Still, you can see the view of Sapporo and a museum showcasing the ice sculptures in winter.

Lots of exhibits to see, all in Japanese though. Had a snow festival exhibit and general history of William Clark. Also cute sheep and beautiful stained glass pieces! If going, would recommend bus during the winter time, pretty hard to get to the top and lots of slush, have to be on the same road as cars.
In early May, join the free sheep-shearing demo during Golden Week. July brings lavender blooms ideal for photos. Winter main paths stay open but skip snow-play areas with baby.
