A two-seat chairlift, sunset city lights, and a French restaurant give strong romantic appeal, yet limited shelter from wind at the summit means some discomfort on cold days.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time to ride the lift, explore the lounge, grab a snack, and take in city views without rushing.
Chairlift Ride to Observation Lounge:
Take the same two-person lift athletes use to reach 307 m above sea level.
Tip: Buy tickets at the base station; in summer (Jul–Sep) ride until 20:30 for night views.
Okurayama Observation Lounge:
Watch ski-jump preparations below and scan Sapporo landmarks through large windows.
Tip: Stand near the glass edge for an unobstructed view of Odori Park, Sapporo Dome, and Ishikari Bay.
Sunset & Night-View Date:
Stay after sunset in summer to see city lights emerge across Sapporo.
Tip: Plan for a 19:00 lift return to catch both the sunset and the first glow of city lights.
Café Celeste:
Order Hokkaido soft-serve ice cream or drinks while you enjoy mountaintop views.
Tip: Share the soft-serve and bring a light jacket for cooler air up top.
Nouvelle Pousse Okurayama:
Enjoy a French course meal using local ingredients with direct views of the jump ramp.
Tip: Reserve a window seat by calling ahead; dinner service starts at 17:30.

if you have never seen a ski jump place, gotta give it a try. You go up to the top by the ski lift which is fun. At the top, you can feel how high and steep the ski jump thing is. Also you can view the whole Sapporo City. You can grab beer, ice cream, tea, etc and enjoy the view. There is a Sapporo Olympic museum too. You can buy a ticket to see both at a discounted price.

Really amazing and interesting. Great view at the top and coming down on the chair lift. You can walk up. There is a side track for people keen.

I was taking the creaky chairlift to the top of the Mt. Okura Ski Jump, the snow lightly falling on my lap, when I turned around and took a look at the city. One of the most beautiful views my retinas have ever been blessed to see. You get a vast view of the city from the top, the Sapporo skyline popping out like little legos out of the ground. I felt like I was in a snow globe. These kinds of vi...

This place offer perfect view of Sapporo city. It has a small ice cream shop up there. What a great experience eating ice cream with snow falling and the white Sapporo view.

One of the cooler experiences I’ve had in Sapporo, the views of the city are beautiful and the size of the ski jump is breath taking. Unfortunately the Olympic museum is closed until March 2023 for renovations. Absolutely worth the trip, we took a taxi because it would have been about double as long a trip from the hotel to actually arrive at the ski jump. The cafe had curry breads and meat pastri...
