Great option for a little escape from the usual vibrant Sapporo. Great art, lot of space, not overcrowded. Easy to reach by bus, worth spending some hours or half a day there.

Nice place to spend 2-3 hours. A bit out of the way. Some of the park attractions were closed during my visit for example the water fountain probably due to seasonal change. The view from the top of the hill was breathtaking and the gentle wind swaying the tall grass was quite an experience.

Once a forgotten landfill, this space has been beautifully transformed into a sprawling green park—thanks to the creativity and vision of the people. Now, it's a beloved place where Sapporo’s residents come to stroll, play, and bask in the gentle warmth of the sun, surrounded by trees and open skies. It’s a quiet reminder of how imagination can turn even the most unlikely places into something tru...

Incredible place! It is amazing that in the 70s it was a garbage dump and they started a redevelopment project (in the Crystal Pyramid museum they explain year by year how they were designing it). By the hand of the incredible Isamu Naguchi, the park is a complete work of art. I recommend renting a bike (1 hour ¥100 and 2 hours ¥200, the standard bike).

Nice open park, grass nice enough to play golf on, Probably can picnic if you wanted to. Can climb both hills and enjoy the scenery. Not many shaded areas so remember to put sunblock before coming. Some exhibits are closed during certain months so check in advance
