Oriental Hotel Universal City (solo trip)

This is a perfect location if you plan to spend some time at Universal Studios and right next to the station, so you are connected to the rest of Osaka. Rooms were clean and perfect size for those who plan to be out and about. Breakfast had a lot of selection including freshly squeezed orange juice. Would definitely plan on staying here again

We have stayed in 5 hotels in Japan over the past two weeks. All the check in processes have been unnecessarily long. But this one was a whole new level. Everywhere else, at least all we had to do was stand there while the staff checked all their boxes. At this hotel, the staff stands there while the guest enters all this info into an IPad, scans their own passports, etc. It really sucks.

Ideal spot to spend the night as it's just outside of USJ. The room is clean, well-equipped in the bathroom and most importantly, a hot shower and a tub. This hotel also provides free snacks for tea break and hot dogs (1 per pax) in the evening.

So initially we paid for a suite…… when we checked in it was a deluxe twin, the girl at the check in counter had an attitude like an angry emo girl from 2000’s. Next day I spoke with the manager and explained the situation to him and he upgraded our room to a more bigger room but not the original room we booked. Great location near USJ, but overall a disappointing stay. Staff were not very polite, housekeeping was poor, and we had to request cleaning after 4 days especially bathroom. I also had to pay separately for my 5-year-old’s breakfast and bring the receipt each time, which was inconvenient. While I didn’t enjoy the food, the chef was kind and remembered our scrambled egg preference daily.
