Dormy Inn Osaka Tanimachi (solo trip)

Great place to relax from a day out walking and taking public transport. Had the largest accommodations of the 4 rooms we stayed in. The natural hot spring is also quite nice.

Dormy Inn is business hotel chain. Location is near Tanimacho 4 Chome station. It took around 5 minutes by walk. You can check in by machine if you book by online in advance. The room size is perfectly adequate and leaves nothing to be desired. For bathing, there is a shared bathroom where you can enjoy natural hot spring. After your bath, you can enjoy complimentary ice cream.

Given how compact most of the hotel is, I was surprised that they managed to fit a nice bath in. It's in a pretty decent place, with easy access to a main metro line, the castle, and some good bars nearby. The floor our room was on smelled quite strange, couldn't put my finger on it. Dissapointing experience, room was nothing like as in the photos and had to pay extra as a child was regarded as an adult, 6 other previous hotels in Japan did not have a problem with this. Rooms were alot smaller than pictured, staff were friendly and caparking at 2500Y was abit on the dear side but convenient. The hot spring bath, sauna, cold bath, free probiotic yogurt, ice pops, and ramen, and paid breakfast were all fabulous. Unfortunately my husband was unable to use the bath because of his tattoos. We were really sad that they no longer serve beer or wine in the restaurant and the pillows were very stiff for our comfort.
