How Baby-Friendly is Tsutenkaku?

Babies enter free and elevators accommodate strollers, but absence of nursing rooms, diaper tables, and stroller rental means parents must carry gear and may need to exit early for changing.

Considerations for visiting Tsutenkaku (with baby)

Positives:

  • Free baby entry: Under-5s enter the tower at no cost.
  • Stroller-friendly: Elevators provide barrier-free access to all floors.
  • Interactive exhibits: Complimentary activities like rubbing Billiken’s feet keep your baby engaged.

Challenges:

  • No baby changing stations: Bring a portable mat and find nearby facilities via Mama Papa Map.
  • No stroller rental: You must bring your own stroller for tower access.
  • Crowded elevators: Lines can form quickly on weekends and evenings.

Recommended visit duration: 1-2 hours

Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to reach the deck, explore exhibits, stop for snacks and take breaks with your baby.

Very nice experience, a true feat of engineering, the tower is stunning and provides nice view over Osaka. Be sure to grab a ticket and enjoy the slide or the walk on the outside rim. Very entertaining. Below are many small shops and restaurants, highly recommended...

This place was included in the Osaka Day Pass (along with the tower slide) so get that if you are looking for great value in Osaka! With the day pass it was really smooth. The only wait was for the lift. The views up here was really good, they have many stamps available too. However, do note that there is paid access to the floor even higher than the observation deck. The one included in the pass...

This is a fantastic area! Feels more like a mix of locals and tourists. Perfect at night for food and during the day for atmosphere. For the tower itself: Slowish lines even with prebooked tickets but really nice views. Definitely pay the extra 300 for the outer deck

Visiting Tsūtenkaku Tower in Osaka was a memorable experience. Located in the nostalgic Shinsekai district, the tower offers stunning panoramic views of the city. The observation deck is a great spot to take in the sights, and the “Billiken” statue inside is a fun and quirky part of the experience — it’s said to bring good luck if you touch its feet! The tower’s design is beautiful, and the neon ...
