How Kids-Friendly is Solaniwa Onsen Osaka Bay Tower?

Kids enjoy festival games, manga corner, fish foot bath, child-size yukata, and private family tubs, but curfews and opposite-sex bath limits after age 7 reduce flexibility for parents.

Considerations for visiting Solaniwa Onsen Osaka Bay Tower (with kids)

Positives:

  • Free Yukata & Costume Fun: Kids get complimentary yukata in two sizes to dress up and take photos.
  • All-night Rest Zone: Recliner chairs and personal TVs stay open late for post-onsen relaxation.

Challenges:

  • Naked Bathing Only: Swimsuits and towels are not allowed in the baths; everyone bathes nude.
  • Under-16 Time Limit: Public baths close at 18:00 for under-16s, so plan visits earlier in the day.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for a private bath, games, foot spa, and a light meal without rushing younger children.

Beautiful experience. We got a private room and it was perfect. Great sized bath, beautiful Japanese garden, huge room and you get to pick your own Yukata. Tattoos are okay but they have to be covered and you can buy as many stickers as you need! They have milk vending machines for after your onsen experience. We had the regular and the strawberry and both were creamy, smooth and delicious. Servic...

We had a wonderful time at Solaniwa. We booked a private onsen, which is a private room and bathtub with a small little garden. 90 minutes was just the right amount of time. The staff at the restaurants was helpful in making sure I did not eat something with seafood in it (allergies) which I very much appreciate. My massage was so good that my voice dropped at least an octave. Also, the public bat...

We really loved our experience here. The check-in was very easy however they did speak limited English and we were still able to communicate just fine. My husband and I got a private onsen an hour and 30 minutes and really enjoyed the opportunity to relax by ourselves. The public baths were still very clean. I really enjoyed the outdoor area which was very scenic and was a slice of serenity and th...

I had an excellent time. Me and my partner went there twice. I loved trying all the different baths. Felt wonderful after. We also had food on both occasions and loved it.

Was very pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this experience! The onsen baths were fantastic. The food exceeded all expectations (I ordered the tuna mascarpone bowl and sake flight). The samurai show was entertaining. Highly recommend if you need a day to relax and recharge during your vacation.
