A nursing room, diaper table, and hot water help carers, yet gravel paths hinder strollers, no rental gear, and limited shade make stays over 30 min tiring for babies and parents.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for photos, ema wishes, omikuji fun, and baby-care breaks.
Photo under the Lion Head:
Stand inside the giant lion face structure for a memorable family photo.
Tip: Hold your baby securely as you step into the lion’s open mouth for fun shots.
Baby Blessing Ema:
Write or draw a wish for your baby on a wooden plaque and hang it up.
Tip: Ask the shrine office for a small plaque; draw a simple symbol and add your baby’s name.
Omikuji Fortune Draw:
Pick a fortune slip for each family member to see your luck.
Tip: Buy three slips (≈200 yen each) and tie any ‘bad’ ones to the rack together.
Use Baby-Care Facilities:
Access the nursing room, diaper-changing station, and hot water.
Tip: Visit early to secure the nursing room; ask staff for hot water at the office.

So beautiful! It’s quite small but iconic. Not crazy amounts of people when we went near closing time. Don’t need tickets to walk the grounds and take pictures. 10 minutes is enough just to see it (grounds)

What other shrine has a giant lion head? This super unique shrine was pleasant to visit, and it’s not very large so you won’t need much more than half an hour to admire it. The staff on site are very friendly and there’s a shop to purchase small charms and ema boards to write your wishes on. It’s much more peaceful and serene in the morning before the tourists pour in.
