Flat paths, nursing rooms and stroller rental at aquarium help caregivers, and babies enter free, yet weekend congestion and limited ride options make the visit slightly less convenient.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This time lets you explore the aquarium, pier stroll, and Ferris wheel without rushing, with breaks for the baby.
Garden Pier Stroll:
Walk wide, flat paths along the waterfront on Garden Pier.
Tip: Use the stroller-friendly trails and stop at shaded benches for feeding breaks.
Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium:
Watch orca and dolphin shows in spacious North Building pools.
Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early to secure seats and find the nearest elevator for stroller access.
JETTY Dining & Play Area:
Choose from water-view cafés and find small play corners for toddlers.
Tip: Check high-chair availability and ask staff for the family restroom with changing table.
Sea Train Land Ferris Wheel:
Take a gondola ride on the 85 m Ferris wheel for panoramic harbor views.
Tip: No height limit if seated with an adult—confirm seating rules at the ticket booth.
Port Building Observatory & Maritime Museum:
Enjoy 360° views from the 53 m observatory and explore interactive ship exhibits.
Tip: Visit the museum after the observatory; both offer free entry for babies under 4.

Spring and autumn offer mild weather for outdoor walks. In winter, view the illumination at Garden Pier after sunset—dress warmly. Summer can be hot; use the indoor aquarium as a cool break.

A sight seeing area for a relaxing day by the harbour and for travellers who want to see the aquarium - ideal for half day trips and lunch

A major tourist attraction that easily reachable from Nagoyako subway station. This is where half of Nagoya population spend their weekends on. Many major tourist attractions are located here and it's a perfect pkace to visit if you have young children. Can be strikingly hot during the summer so be sure to wear the proper attire. I recommend visiting in the morning or in the afternoon.

Nice port with quick access to the trains and streetcars into the city. Plus the also shops and restaurants right outside the port.
