I have stayed in a couple livemax hotels and this was my favorite. The room, while small, was laid out in a good manner. My room was clean, newly updated, and had no smells. I thought this hotel was a very good value. It is also very convenient to Kyoto station and has food/shopping near. My only critique is the wifi internet was very slow. 2.3Mb/s. Could hardly stream 720p video. Overall though I...

It came up in a listing of pet friendly hotels so I booked it but when I came to check in, they said they did not allow cats. I had even contacted them ahead of time. The staff were completely okay with me and my cat being forced to sleep on the street. They would not even refund me. Evil people! This chain floods the pet friendly budget hotel listings, so watch out. I assume they are all dog onl...

Hotel Live Max Kyoto Station is a fantastic hotel, conveniently located a short five-minute walk from the bustling Kyoto Station. The spacious rooms offer a unique Japanese experience with the option of a traditional tatami room. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Its budget-friendly price and ideal location make it my top choice for future Kyoto visits.

The hot water flask was pretty nasty with bits flowing out after I boiled one round of tap water. The hair dryer was dirty as well. Did not dare to use both items. Plus point is the in room washing machine and clothes dryer...

this hotel is close to kyoto JR station which makes it easy to get around all over the Kyoto area. The rooms are small but manageable. The bathrooms are also small and would benefit from modernisation. however they are clean. One excellent feature is a washing machine in every room.
