Exits lead to Kamo-river sunsets, chic cafés, department-store rooftops and quiet shrine walks ideal for dates, though weekend congestion reduces privacy and slows strolls.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: This lets you enjoy a sunset river stroll, shrine visit, and riverside dinner without rushing.
Shijo Ōhashi Bridge sunset stroll:
Walk east from Kawaramachi Station along Shijo Street to the bridge over the Kamo River.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to secure a seat on the low riverbank wall.
Yasaka Shrine love amulet:
Visit Yasaka Shrine, a 10-minute walk along the river, and pray for good fortune.
Tip: Buy a love amulet (around ¥500) and tie it to the shrine fence together.
Maruyama Park lantern-lit paths:
Stroll among weeping cherry trees and ponds under park lanterns.
Tip: Go after dusk in spring or autumn to see the trees lit by lanterns.
Dinner at Kamogawa Club:
Enjoy Italian-Kyoto fusion on a terrace overlooking the Takase River.
Tip: Reserve at least one day ahead and ask for a riverside table.

The young man staff at the train station is very rude and refused to answer any questions relating to directions of train. Probably he doesn’t know English but dont need to be rude to tourist and tell them to go. Lack of manners.

The final stop for the Hankyu line. Right at the center of Kyoto. It takes ~40 minutes from the Osaka-Umeda station to this station. The stamp is easy to find, it's on the way to the exit

The elevator is at the 3B exit, shown on Google maps. I’ve added the photos, for anyone who doesn’t want to lug your big bags up/down stairs. It’s not easy to find from the outside. It’s the right most elevator, it’s the only one that goes down. You’re at the right hallways if you see a Disney sign.

From Namba Oriental hotel, with 2 luggage walked to Nippombashi Station (Better if you know underground “Namba Walk” shopping street). Take the local express train direct to Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, my intended destination.

I didn’t use JR pass at all for Osaka and Kyoto since I’m not staying near JR line. Bought 2 days Kansai pass for Hankyu line for Kyoto and other areas and it is really convenient. Can just walk to Gion area and Kiyumizudera from this station.
