The building is old, but I think they've put a lot of effort into maintaining and cleaning it. There are only a few rooms, so it's recommended for people who prefer a more intimate setting than a large hotel.

Visited from NZ, new to Japan.Very quite place. Isolated place compared to Hakone-Gora, Clean rooms, we were 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 child. Walkable (uphill) distance to Hakone open air museum. closest corner shop is good 6-9mins walk. no kitchen, had microwave. No english speaking staff, however they have a translater machine at the reception.

Rooms and bathrooms are recently renovated. There are outdoor onsen, The nearest 7-11 is about 5 minutes drive. We enjoyed our stay here.
