What makes it 47% Baby-Friendly: Free stroller rental and diaper table help, but no nursing room on site and the hushed space means a crying baby will draw complaints, so visits require careful timing and quick exits.
Note: Picasso Pavilion is 47% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Hakone for a more suitable experience.
Why 1–2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows a focused walkthrough of the narrow galleries with time for baby breaks and stroller use.
Admire the rare gemmails:
Find the two unique glass mosaics on the second-floor timeline.
Tip: Go early when corridors are quieter and hold baby in a front carrier for easier movement.
Use the diaper-changing station:
Full-size changing bed inside the pavilion restroom.
Tip: Bring a small mat for extra padding and quick cleanups.
Borrow a free stroller:
Pick one up at the Main or New Gallery Information Desk.
Tip: Reserve as soon as you arrive to ensure availability before touring.
Visit the infant nursing room:
Located at the New Gallery, offers seating and hot water for formula.
Tip: Ask staff at the pavilion exit for directions before you explore.

This beautiful structure houses the artworks of Pablo Picasso. I love the stain glass windows as you enter the lobby. The building has 2 stories. It is divided into several sections. Each section showcased the works of Picasso such as paintings, sculptures and also some history on the life led by the late artist. It is the only indoor exhibit in this open air musuem. What a lovely place to meander...

Decent collection, inspiring for art lovers with quite a few collectibles from Picasso. The whole place is quite good to visit with family including kids…some play areas, cafe with basic food and coffee, all make it a nice place for half day visit if you are in the area. Accessible with baby car and clean toilets inside.

This display is at the outdoor museum. A great place to view Picasso's talent. A nice place to take the children to start their education in art.

Cool museum - on a good day its also fun and interesting for kids, our 8 year old old son enjoyed the art and it made his brain a little brighter too.

Perfect escape from the city. Beautiful, relaxing, and plenty to do to spend the day.
Bring a light jacket year-round for your baby—the pavilion’s air-conditioning stays cool even in summer.
