The view is nice, but the eggs are just regular hard boiled eggs. The store is packed to the brim even during week days, but at least they have a dedicated line for black eggs. Felt like a marketing ploy to be honest, but well, the view itself is amazing. The black egg experience can be skipped in my opinion. The crowd in the store is just not worth it. Do come here for the view though.

I visited Owakudani Kurotamagokan while exploring Hakone. The Ropeway (free with the Hakone Free Pass) makes it easy to reach, but you do need to walk down a bit to get to the actual shop.
