What makes it 77% Baby-Friendly: Strollers are welcome, diaper tables are onboard, and a nursing room sits at Togendai, yet no onboard nursing room, wind, and crowding require planning, so it remains convenient but not flawless.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Includes the 70-minute cruise, port stops, stroller breaks and nursing time
Cruise on the pirate ship:
Board at Togendai Port for a full 70-minute round-trip sail
Tip: Use the elevator with your stroller to reach the upper deck for unobstructed views
Hop on and off at Moto-Hakone Port:
Stretch your legs and explore lakeside paths
Tip: Stroller ramps are available—reboard on the next ship at no extra cost
Enjoy Mount Fuji scenery:
Spot the snow-capped peak across Lake Ashi
Tip: Morning light is best for photos; hold your baby close on the deck
Use buggy rental at Togendai:
Borrow a baby buggy if you skip bringing your own stroller
Tip: Free rental is on first-come basis—arrive 15 minutes before departure

Easily a must-do in Hakone. It's included with the Hakone Free Pass, and you can upgrade to first class for just 700 yen — which I highly recommend. You’ll enjoy beautiful views and a very fun ride.

Nice cruise! Would recommend doing this. We did it at 5pm, so it was already dark. Still cool to see. It takes about 20 minutes to go to the opposite side

It's a pretty quick cruise not that expensive. Very nice scenery. Boats are very nice and well maintained. It's a big day from Tokyo on trains, cable car, ropeway, boat, bus and train again. A good day out in the country hills.

The boats are simple yet, very well designed. If you want to grab a simple meal or a beer, you can do so on-board. The crossing ride is only 15 minutes but it's well worth the travel. Very quiet.
Spring brings cherry blossoms along the shore; autumn colors peak in mid-November. Winter winds can be strong—dress the baby in layers. Summer sun is bright; bring sunshade.
