What makes it 69% Kids-Friendly: Elementary-age children are admitted, can borrow seat cushions, and find changing tables and snack bentos; however, long performances and no play space may tire kids who cannot stay silent for hours.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This allows time to explore the lobby, watch the show, and enjoy snacks without rushing younger kids.
Book a family-friendly performance:
Choose a children’s musical or kabuki for elementary-age kids.
Tip: Reserve tickets online early and pick seats near the front or aisle for easy access.
Borrow free seat cushions:
Use soft cushions for children under 130 cm to boost their view.
Tip: Ask at any floor’s seat information desk before the show starts.
Grab bento or snacks early:
Pick colorful boxed lunches and kid-friendly treats at the café.
Tip: Buy at opening to avoid sell-outs and eat during intermission in the lounge.
Relax in Hakataza Lounge:
Rest with seating and open space during intermission.
Tip: Head there as soon as the show pauses; space fills fast.
Explore the grand lobby:
See the curved staircase, chandelier, and photo spots.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes before the show to snap family photos without crowds.
Use free diaper-changing tables:
Find multipurpose restrooms with baby benches on each floor.
Tip: Locate tables in ground, first, second, and third-floor lobbies.

This theater is amazing. You can watch Kabuki for a few months a year.Performing arts are beautiful and create good memories. The theater's facilities are excellent, with high-quality boxed lunches for sale and plenty of restrooms. I recommend purchasing lunch before it starts.During breaks, you can eat at your seat or in the rest area.

The theater itself was lovely, all of the vendors were nice, and the performance was absolutely amazing. Stunning attention to detail with the ability to entertain someone that knows only some of the language being used. The staff were very accommodating and kind and the bento was delicious!!

There isn't a bad seat in the house, acoustics are excellent and at intermissions, all sorts of booths selling tasty snacks, meals and drinks. I've been here for two musicals, 1879 and Marie Antoinette and been thrilled with the place both times. It's well located and easy to find.
Check the theater’s monthly schedule online to find special children’s shows and holiday musicals.
