Shiki-No-Yado Fujisan (solo trip)

I can't add an opinion on booking so I'll do it here. The main purpose of guests who come there is climbing on fuji. The hotel should ensure the option of changing the date or cancelling the reservation during tsunami or tayphoon. When I encountered this situation, I wasn't able to contact to the host, I didn't have any other option than loosing the reservation and money.

The location is perfect and the views from the rooms is beautiful, even rooms on the side that face other mountains. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s an onsen, bicycle rental, breakfast option, and shuttle service to the train station. The rooms are a little old, but that might be part of the charm. I like this place and I would stay again.

I’m not one to usually complain but there are 2 MAJOR issues with this hotel. #1, the air conditioner in the rooms must be made to cool a closet. They do not cool the room even remotely and unless you are the one sleeping directly under it with the air conditioner aimed at you, you will be hot and sweating during the summer months. We stayed in Shiki no Yado for 2 nights. We reached early and they knew immediately that we wanted them to keep our luggage first as we explored other areas. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
