The Cross Hotel (solo trip)

The rooms are nice, but the breakfast is very poor. There are very few options at breakfast. The options seem ridiculous. There weren't even any fries. The breakfast was ridiculous. We were very disappointed that the breakfast was so poor for such a hotel. In fact, one morning we almost didn't even have breakfast because everything was the same and the breakfast options were very limited.

As an Asian couple from Hong Kong, we were treated with prejudice throughout our stay. The hotel wrongly accused us of triggering a fire alarm and left a note in simplified Chinese — a language not native to Hong Kong — despite our clear use of English during check-in and throughout our stay. I stayed in this hotel alongside a group of friends and my experience was slightly less than ideal. For starters, on our first night, the fire alarm repeatedly rang throughout the early hours of the morning/night. The Cross Hotel was overall a pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and even walked my luggage to my room. I stayed in Building 4, a short walk from the entrance. The outdoor bar was a nice touch, and I liked being able to order drinks to take back to my room. My only issue was the AC—it never cooled properly. Even with everything closed, the room stayed warm. This was a great place. We don’t like to stay right in the middle of crowded tourist areas, but prefer to be near a subway, and walkable to areas to visit. For reference, the subway is about 5 minutes by walking and the colloseum is about 20 minutes. The hotel has a bar in the garden, which we met friends in every evening.
