Hotel Impero Rome (couple trip)

From the moment we entered the hotel, there was a very strong and unpleasant sewage smell, which was extremely annoying and lasted throughout our entire stay. The room wallpapers were very dirty, and the TV was placed directly in front of the mirror, which was inconvenient. However, the hotel location was good, and all the reception staff were very kind and helpful.

The hotel was fine. It seemed clean. The room smelled of bleach but all the public areas, including the very small lift, had a distinct public bathroom smell. The restaurant advertised as being on site is two blocks away. There are no coffee making facilities in the room, nor any coffee available except for at additional cost. Unfortunate experience. Water wasn’t very hot for shower. Bed not very comfortable. Not great soundproofing. Room was too warm, had to keep turning on AC power button because it would turn off. The gentleman at the front desk didn’t care about the issues he instead explained to me how their water system works and spoke to me like I’m a child who doesn’t know how air conditioning works.

The hotel is old, but quaint and charming. Cute decor. Staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Rooms are adorable, but old. Our shower leaked quite a bit so the bathroom floor was mostly always damp, otherwise no issues. Super convenient location just a few minutes walk from Roma termini train station.

Loved this hotel. Very cool decor, welcoming staff, extremely clean. Close to the termini but feels tucked away from the bustle a bit. Based on my experiences, underpriced for the quality. Front staff was so helpful. You leave the hard keys with the front desk when you go out and they always remembered us and had the key ready when we returned. Felt like VIPs:)
