The Trinità dei Monti is breathtaking — the climb up the Spanish Steps perfectly builds anticipation for the beauty inside. The main altar, with its elegant marble columns and gilded details, is both grand and serene. Standing there, surrounded by history and overlooking Rome, feels absolutely timeless.

The whole church is not very big, but as an attraction attached to the Spanish Step, you can't miss it. Admission is completely free and you can walk through the whole church in about 20 minutes. At the door you can see a panoramic view of the Spanish Step and you can take a photo with your friends and family.

If this church were anywhere else, I’d probably give it more stars. But by Rome’s standards, it’s nothing too special. Nice exterior, great location — perched above the Spanish Steps — but the vibe? Not so great. Crowds pushing up and down, and the usual swarm of guys trying to sell you roses and junk. The interior has some decent art, but nothing jaw-dropping. At first glance, the church might seem underwhelming compared to some of Rome’s more lavish temples. But it’s actually rich in history, with many interesting stories to tell and various intricate details about it. During mass, the entry to the church is limited in order to avoid tourists disturbing the service so plan your visit accordingly.
