What makes it 85% Solo-Friendly: A solo visitor can explore the interactive machines at their own pace, hire a multilingual audio guide, and complete the 1–2-hour route easily without needing any special facilities.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Enough time to explore interactive models, holograms, and the submerged tomb at a relaxed pace.
Try Leonardo’s flying machines:
Turn cranks and pull levers on full-scale wooden models of gliders and helicopters.
Tip: Visit early to avoid waiting and focus on one machine at a time.
Watch the hologram show:
See nine 3D holograms explaining flight, painting and engineering.
Tip: Take a seat up front for uninterrupted views and clear audio.
Explore the submerged tomb:
Descend to the underground chamber to view the 43 B.C. sepulcher under water.
Tip: Go in a quieter moment—around closing time—for good photos without crowds.
Use an audio guide:
Rent a guide in your language to hear detailed labels and inventor insights.
Tip: Pick English or Italian at the desk and follow the machine demos section first.

The guide materials need some TLC as.do some of the exhibits, but overall it was a good exhibit, with nice interpretations, Tidy and very clean. We had a very nice time and learned much!

An Unforgettable Journey My first visit to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Milan was absolutely **mind-blowing** From the moment I stepped inside, I felt like I was walking through the imagination of history’s greatest Renaissance master. The museum brings da Vinci’s inventions to life with stunning interactive models of his flying machines, war devices, and hydraulic systems. Seeing his sketche...

Informative but pricey considering content. I refuse to think this could be one of those tourist traps but felt it was not worth it as it is a super small museum with a few pieces, all replicas. Perhaps it would be nice for a much lower price. Finally, in our experience staff at entrance seem to be busy organising items and stuff at the shop and don’t pay much attention to visitors, which come acr...

We went there on a weekday, wasn't too crowded. Highly recommended. Ticket was 10€ x person. It was a great experience since I didn't know much about Da Vinci. I know it might be a bit weird :)) They give an audio guide available in different languages, Italian, English, Spanish, German, etc. You can also read the explanations beside each painting or device. I think you need at least 1 hour to vis...

On weekdays before noon you’ll find fewer visitors. In summer, buy tickets online to skip the line and cool off inside.
