What makes it 66% Kids-Friendly: Kids enter free and weekend workshops add hands-on fun, yet fragile displays, limited interactivity, and lack of a play area mean attention wanes after about an hour.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This allows time for the palace rooms, a hands-on workshop, and play in the courtyard and garden without rushing.
Animated Family Workshop:
Join a hands-on art tour and create simple crafts with a specialist educator.
Tip: Book in advance for weekend slots and arrive 10 minutes early to settle in.
Family-Friendly Tactile Tour:
Touch replicas of sculptures and architectural details in a guided multi-sensory walk.
Tip: Reserve by email at least one week before your visit for guaranteed spots.
Courtyard & Vittoriano Garden Play:
Let kids run around the cloister garden and the adjacent public park free of charge.
Tip: Visit early in the morning for cooler temperatures and quiet space for a picnic.
Ceiling & Balcony View Hunt:
Spot the detailed painted ceilings and step onto Mussolini’s balcony for city views.
Tip: Ask staff which rooms have the safest child-height barriers for viewing.
Renaissance Art Treasure Hunt:
Use the free map to find animal motifs and bright colors hidden in the paintings.
Tip: Give each child a drawing sheet to mark shapes and compare findings.

One of the first renaissance buildings in Rome, also historically significant (Mussolini's HQ) and architecturally grand with beautiful garden. The included museum entry makes it a worthwhile visit, especially as its part of 18 EUR entry for Vittorio Emanuele monument's elevator and museum

Palazzo Venezia is a must-see in Rome, especially with the incredible monument to Victor Emmanuel II right next to it! The palace itself is beautiful and full of history, but the real highlight is the impressive monument. The grand architecture and the statue are truly stunning, offering an unforgettable experience. The view from the top is breathtaking, and it’s less crowded compared to other fam...

Impressive collection of art and artifacts in a beautiful palace with 2 courtyard gardens, one only accessible with a ticket. Interesting Marconi exhibition to complement that going on at the Vittoriano and one ticket gets you entry to both, and includes the lift to the roof of the monument which is well worth doing. The Palazzo has mainly 15th - 17th century items, including an impressive collec...

Amazing collection of ancient treasures. I was amazed with the beauty and how well preserved everything is. The place was empty, quiet and worth visiting. One bad thing though. The underground level with the treasures and ancient mummy is closed for public;( the man in the museum couldnt tell us when they will open.
Oh My Goshen

Once you enter with a ticket you go up the stairs and start a self guided tour (no audio guide unfortunately) but the signs and explanations are in Italian and English. There is only one path to the visit so it's pret...
Summer afternoons can be hot; visit early to enjoy the courtyard shade. In winter, the museum is quieter but lighting is dimmer, so bring a small flashlight for kids to spot details.
