What makes it 43% Kids-Friendly: Kids 4–11 get reduced fares and strollers fit below the coach, but zero toilets, shade or play areas mean even brief waits can be tiring and inconvenient for children under 12.

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for coffee, waiting, quick visits to nearby spots and the bus ride without rushing kids.
Grab a coffee at Caffè Reale:
Enjoy espresso or hot chocolate with a pastry 100 m from the stop.
Tip: Order takeaway to save your table for stroller gear.
Board The Mall bus:
Choose upper deck seats under the panoramic roof for views of Tuscan hills.
Tip: Arrive 15 min early, fold and stow strollers in the underfloor hold free.
Use Santa Maria Novella station:
Walk 5 min to find toilets, snack shops and seating under cover.
Tip: Buy water and snacks here before the bus ride.
Ice skating at Florence on Ice:
Skate under fortress walls at Fortezza da Basso (5 min walk).
Tip: Open late Nov–Mar; book tickets online to skip lines.

Paid for the 9.30am bus to The Mall. Bus still hasn’t left the terminal at 9.57. There’s the 10am bus. If I wanted to leave at 10am I wld have taken the later bus. This is unacceptable service. Take a cab from Florence if you can.

Ride drivers, rude staff, not helpful at all. Ppl With no ticket allowed to hop on the bus (paying cash to the doorman) not registered obviously… Mall is not so big as milan, selection is poor, and prices on average… Yes they have all the gucci’s logo you looking for…

Absolutely rude operators. I was holding onto a sandwich (all wrapped up in a bag) with no intention to eat on the bus (as per the rules). Yet, the operator denied boarding until I leave the sandwich out.

Exit the train, walk towards the station. Do not go into the station, turn left, go all the way over to the wall (McDonalds), turn left and walk to the end of the station. Look to the right for an entryway that leads to a walkway/ramp. The ramp is to the left and down to the street. At the bottom cross the street. The bus will arrive in the area where there are other busses.

Purchase your tickets on the bus - I paid by card. Cash accepted as well. I purchased the tickets online from themall on the same day and it mentioned “processing” after payment was made to PayPal. However, I did not receive any QR for the bus tickets. Driver insisted that I have to purchase a new ticket on board..got scammed. so DONT BUY the tickets online. Just get it on the spot!
November–March: ice rink at Fortezza da Basso (kids €7, adults €12). Summer: bring water and sun hats, the stop has only open-air shelters.
