63%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 63% Kids-Friendly: Kids enter free or reduced, enjoy video mapping and medieval props, yet many stairs, text-heavy displays, and no play area reduce comfort, so it best fits ages 8–12.

Positives:

  • Interactive Displays: Kids can touch controls and engage with multimedia panels to stay focused.
  • Compact Layout: All exhibits are within a small building, so families don’t need to walk long distances.

Challenges:

  • Narrow Stairs: Upper floors have tight staircases—fold your stroller or carry small children and use the elevator via the bookshop.
  • Limited Seating: Few benches inside exhibits—plan brief standing intervals or rest in the bookshop area afterward.

Dante Alighieri's house is located in the heart of Florence. It is believed to have been destroyed, and its current appearance dates back to 1911. It houses a museum that displays maps, documents, and drawings related to Dante. There is also a bookstore that sells his works. Outside, in the small square in front of the house, on one of the tiles in the square, you can look and recognize a side ima...

Great place. Little hard to find but just follow maps and you will find it. It was such an eye opener on a person I thought was a dull old bore. Far from it. I won't comment on his works as there are people far more qualified to explain that. However the place itself is wonderful to find out more about the man, his life and the world he lived in. It has alot of information but also alot of intera...

The most useless museum I’ve ever been! Spoiler : The are no personal belongings of Dante, there are no furniture. Nothing! Only if you like to watch tv - you will enjoy! Because museum is full of tvs where you just watch videos about Dante. Oh and fake printed papers from medievals🤦🏼 they just try to take money on his name and location.

This is a very cool, unique and historical museum. The collection is impressive, the items are very well preserved and displayed. It’s sad that Dante had to flee Florence and couldn’t return but his house is a very special place to visit. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend visiting this amazingly historical museum.

The location is great! This literally a couple of blocks from the train station. The rooftop view is amazing and the burgers there are quite tasty. The AC in the room was not working well at all, and it was very, very hot outside. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The air conditioning not functioning properly made it hard to sleep, but the other amenities ...
