The smooth promenade suits strollers and public toilets have some nappy tables, yet strong sea breezes, limited indoor cover and no nursing room can frustrate carers with infants.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This allows a relaxed walk, playground stop, garden rest and pool visit with a baby without rushing.
Stroller-Friendly Promenade Walk:
Smooth, flat 2 km path along Galway Bay
Tip: Use benches for feeds and nappy changes. Stop at The Galleon café—order a drink to use their baby-change table.
Claude Toft Park Playground:
Toddler swings, see-saws and small slides on soft ground
Tip: Visit after 10 am when the light breeze drops. Nearby seating offers shade and rest.
Circle of Life Garden:
Quiet green space with benches overlooking the bay
Tip: Bring a blanket for tummy time on the grass near the benches.
Leisureland Toddler Pool:
Shallow bubbly pool area with gentle spouts
Tip: Check seasonal opening times. Under-4s enter free with a paying adult ticket.
Public Baby-Change Facilities:
Automated toilets along the prom with fold-down nappy tables
Tip: Keep €0.20 coins for access. Ladies Beach block has extra space and a shower.
In summer, bring sunhat and sunscreen—playground shade is limited by midday. In winter, dress baby in windproof layers. Check Leisureland pool dates during holidays.

Stormy burge
Great rocky beaches, too cold for swimming however there were some people in the water. Parking wasn't incredibly difficult if you are patient.

A very nice view of the sea. It t was raining that day.. those are the best that I could take.

If you enjoy walking along a coastal pedestrian friendly path that overlooks the water, this is perfect. Lots of benches to rest at along the way, we saw several swimmers and divers in the water, there is a cool solar powered bench to charge your phone (with USB or direct contact charge!), and lots of restaurants and pubs nearby if you want to grab a quick pint or snack!

I brought my bathing suit on this trip in hope of swimming, but my entourage was not interested. And yet, we had sunny days every day and locals were bravely enjoying themselves.

Such a good atmosphere to have a walk. Easy walk from the Spanish arch to the promenade. Don’t forget to kick the wall when you finished the walk!
