Kids menu, high chairs and patio space welcome children, but no play area, no shows for young ones and standard restrooms mean parents must keep kids busy themselves, lowering convenience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to enjoy a meal, relax in the sunroom and patio without rushing younger children
Children’s Menu:
Choose from fish & chips, chicken goujons or pasta sized for kids
Tip: Order kids’ meals early; courses arrive quickly so hungry children stay happy
Patio & Sunroom Play Space:
Let kids roam the sunny sunroom or the flower-lined patio
Tip: Bring small toys or coloring books to keep them entertained between courses
Sunday Trad Music Session:
Enjoy free traditional Irish tunes every Sunday afternoon
Tip: Arrive by 1 pm to get seats close to the musician for a fun experience
Free Parking & Wi-Fi:
Park off-street for free and use complimentary Wi-Fi
Tip: Use Wi-Fi to stream kids’ cartoons or find local attractions on the go
In summer, reserve a patio table early to catch the Galway Bay breeze. In cooler months, choose the sunroom seating for warmth and natural light.

Donnellys of barna is a Pub that serves the most delicious fresh foods. The staff are amazing and very efficient. My wife said her Linguine was perfectly cooked with a tasty sauce.

We really loved the beer garden on a sunny afternoon and they had the All Ireland football semi final on the big screen. Food looked amazing but we weren't hungry. Loads of seating inside as well. They had a nice kids menu too and the staff were lovely

Passing through & staying across the road, we thought it would be nicer to visit the local bar for food. Difficult to select from a great menu. We both opted for the chicken, bacon & leak pie. We were served water without being asked, the Guinness was perfectly poured & the food was exceptional. Decent-sized portions & very well cooked. Never a big fan of mushy peas, but these were delicious. ...

Hearty tasty filling food. Sound friendly staff. Comfortable surroundings including indoors, outdoors and covered outdoor areas.

This place is the best!!! They were booked solid, yet found a way to accommodate us for dinner. Despite the game and the crowds, the service was attentive and prompt. The food was great and served hot. Moreover, they took on a lost dog we found at the pier, kept her overnight, and found her owner. Good food and good people!
