Great place to visit when in Sublib! A special note for some unique artifacts or discoveries. Special side-exibitions also very interesting. The museum shop is well organized, around 10-15 books on each major section. The time span regarded is from the earliest discoveries in Mesolithic (here around 5000 BC) to the Middle Age, pre-Reform. The Viking period (aprox. 800-1200) is so well documented.

This is a wonderful, completely free experience. You can learn so much of the history of Ireland from the wonderfully curated items on display. Take care our time and stroll through and just absorb the story of this island.

Free entry. Beautiful building. Gorgeous museum with historical items dating 1000s of years old. The architecture of the museum itself is worth a visit. It was very busy on Sunday so I'd recommend a weekday visit. Still, it wasn't too much bother with all the people either. No waiting to get in.

Really worth visiting, history lives there, nice exhibitions, art and design exhibits, the whole sailing boat and free entry! Only pay for parking which is not expensive and right on the grounds (5 euro for 4 hours or 10 euro for the whole day) and Cafe on the grounds to have a break (sweet and savory things too). Visit would take a few hours and there are guided excursions there too. But talk to ...

Really appreciate the donation based entry, so it's always worth popping in you're in the area doing something else. Would highly recommend looking at the big bodies if you aren't too squeamish! They themselves and their histories...
