Challenges:

  • Quiet galleries: Crowd noise and running can disturb other visitors; remind kids to use quiet voices.
  • Limited seating: Benches are spaced out; bring a small cushion or take breaks in the café.
  • Café waits: High demand at peak lunch times can mean 10–15 minute waits for a table.

Visiting the Chester Beatty Library was a truly memorable experience. The museum is calm, beautifully curated, and rich in history and culture from around the world. I was especially moved by the ancient Qur’an manuscripts some centuries old, so carefully preserved, with stunning calligraphy that reflects deep devotion and craftsmanship. The location inside Dublin Castle is perfect, the facilities...

A free to visit art and history museum. Really loved it. It's interactive, it has a lot to see and read, and even hear. It has some games even! Definitely the best experience in the castle grounds!

A beautiful collection of book-focused artifacts from all over the world. I spent several hours here and enjoyed every moment of it. If you are interested in the development of the book over time in different cultures, this will be perfect for you. The facilities are well-kept and it was easy to get around. The museum is free to enter and next door to Dublin Castle.

All of the items in the museum are so beautiful, and I felt they were arranged nicely to allow them to properly tell their story. Very incredible artifacts here. It’s free, so it’s definitely worth a visit. The Dubh Linn park next door is so beautiful, and it’s right behind the Dublin Castle
