Infants may enter the ground-floor church, but under-2s are barred from the tower and there are no toilets, changing tables, stroller storage, or nursing space, so stays must be short and well planned.
Note: St Anne's Church Shandon Bells & Tower is 40% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Cork for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to explore the church interior and attend a service without rushing your baby.
Explore the church interior:
Walk through the Victorian timber-vaulted nave and admire the stained-glass windows.
Tip: The sanctuary is stroller-friendly; keep your baby in the stroller to see the barley-twist rail up close.
Attend the Sunday service:
Join the 10:15 am Anglican service for live hymns in a family-friendly setting.
Tip: Sit near the exits for quick steps outside if your baby gets restless; no charge to attend.
Photograph the goldie fish weathervane:
View the gilded salmon atop the tower from the churchyard.
Tip: Stand on the south side of the churchyard for the best angle against Cork’s skyline.
In winter, bring a blanket as the stone floors can feel cool. Check church opening times during major holidays when service schedules may change.

If you visit Cork City don't miss out on this cool experience. You get to climb to the top of the bell tower for amazing views of the City. And along the way you can ring the church bells and climb through the tower as they ring. This was a super cool experience. Visiting the church was also fun for the kids as they hide some little Jesus's around for you to find. We visited on a weekday afte...

Don’t miss this if you’re around Cork ! Climbing up the bell was fun as the space got narrow the more we were reaching the top. Splendid view from the top.

Feels like you've gained private access as you climb up a super narrow stone staircase, with pleasant pauses at different levels in the tower, and there's no big line to ring the bells. Not the usual tourist trap bell tower. Super narrow dark stone stairway not recommended if you don't like tight spaces, but not a cr...

very interesting, small church. old copies of the library are kept here, they are exhibited in the church hall. you can climb the narrow stairs to the very top, ring the bells and admire the beautiful view from above. the clock on the tower shows different times on each side😁
