How Solo-Friendly is Leahy's Open Farm?

63%Solo-Friendly
View Map

Animal encounters, maze and chocolate workshop give a pleasant half-day, but atmosphere is child-centric and many play areas feel awkward alone, so interest is limited.

Positives:

  • Solo-friendly pace: Wide paths and self-guided areas let you explore without waiting on a group.
  • Photo opportunities: Your solo visit is perfect for unobstructed shots in the maze, gardens and rides.

Challenges:

  • Weather exposure: Most activities are outdoors. Recent rain may make paths muddy or slippery.
  • Limited public transport: The farm is best reached by car or taxi. Buses run infrequently on weekdays.

A great day out with the kids, my two are 9 and 11 and still loved it. Lots of play areas and interactions with the animals. The icecream shop is a must!!! I spent around 80/90 euros for the day. That was entrance in, drinks/crisps and digger tickets and 3 huge icecreams after 😍

A brilliant day out while on holiday in Ireland. Staff were helpful, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the cafe, simple food, but served quickly, hot and enjoyed. The place has loads of play equipment for all ages, plus plenty of animals and loads of old farm machinery. The quad bike ride was a particular delight for the children. Views of the valley and h...
