Positives:

  • Family zone: Dedicated buggy parking and trained ushers make moving around easier.
  • Short intermission: One 20-minute break lets kids rest without long waits.

Challenges:

  • Show length: Performances run 90–120 minutes which may test younger children’s focus.
  • Limited view lines: Rows can be steep; pick central seats when booking for the best sightlines.

  • A 1,000-seat Victorian theatre in Cork city centre serving as the region’s principal performing arts venue
  • A stage for local and international music, theatre, dance and comedy productions
  • A structure that marries a 19th-century classical façade with contemporary stage technology and amenities

  2. Choose a relaxed performance for sensory comfort
  3. Use the foyer café and seating area for breaks
  4. Join free guided tours in August or Culture Night
  5. Enjoy family-friendly amenities like buggy parking

I watched The Rocky Horror Show this weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Lovely building, and a really great show. My only gripe was that there was no photography allowed, (until the end of the show anyway). I think that this should be clearly stated on a sign for example to prevent embarrassment, as the steward was aggressively flashing his light to shine attention on me when I tried to tak...

What a building. Great place to attend a concert plenty of places to wait for the concert to start before you go into the main hall. The bar upstairs is large with excellent seating there to lovely view of the River Lee out the windows. Can't fault this venue. Drinks prices are not extortionate either. will be watching out for other up coming concerts there. Chris de Burgh concert was amazing.

We've been to Cork Opera House a few times, and we always enjoy our shows there. While it's a fantastic venue with great atmosphere, in my opinion, it could benefit from a few upgrades compared to places like the National Opera House in Wexford. That said, we had a wonderful time at The High Kings show – the performance was excellent, and the venue still offers a great experience overall. We'll de...

This was our second trip in as many weeks to see the the 2024 offering of the improv adult panto. The concept is that the audience choose a panto from a list of nine pantos firstly. This selection process is all done by a measured loudness of popularity roar for each option. Then the audience is invited to decide which of the main five cast members plays each of the five principal roles in whateve...
