How Solo-Friendly is Devil's Tears?

The cliff lookout provides dramatic waves, photography spots, and space for reflection that a solo visitor can navigate alone, but they must stay back from slippery edges.

Positives:

  • 24/7 Access: Site open at all hours; ideal for sunrise or sunset visits.
  • Low Entry Fee: IDR 25,000 per adult; free entry for children.

Challenges:

  • Slippery Rocks: Wet, jagged stones require sturdy footwear and careful footing.
  • Unpredictable Waves: Keep at least 5 m from the cliff edge; waves can surge without warning.
  • Basic Facilities: Toilets cost IDR 5,000; no shade or seating beyond small warungs.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time to explore cliffs at both high and low tide, take photos, and relax by the ocean.

Nature’s Drama at Its Finest – Devil’s Tear Is Absolutely Breathtaking Devil’s Tear is one of those places that leaves you in awe from the moment you arrive. Located on the rugged southwestern edge of Nusa Lembongan, this natural wonder offers a front-row seat to the raw, untamed beauty of the ocean. The name might sound ominous, but what you witness here is nothing short of mesmerizing. As wave...

Really an astonishing view in lembongan, better come when the wave is high. Don't worry about water and food, there are many local shops there and around. This place is also good as a walking track, cannot do running because the pedestriand a bit bumpy.

Absolutely must visit. The views are amazing, the sea waves are powerful, and it is a lasting memory. The water crushes into a cavity and blows up. The rainbow can be seen here when waves are high. There are a few shops selling water, ice cream, other beverages and snacks. I would recommend visiting here in the evening or else carry an umbrella.

Devil’s Tear is an absolute must-visit spot when you’re on Lembongan Island! The sheer power of the waves crashing against the rugged cliffs is both thrilling and captivating. It’s a place where you can truly feel the raw force of nature. We visited during the late afternoon, and the light from the setting sun made the water spray glow like misty clouds. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks i...

I loved it! Totally recommend to go during sunset, the price is 25K for adults and kids not sure.. Worth the price, the waves are huge and the energy is beautiful, you can spend hours there just to hear the ocean and see the beautiful sunset! Is near Dream beach so you can combine both! There are stands where you can get something to drink also!
