How Baby-Friendly is Canggu Beach?

Parents may enjoy stroller strolls at low tide and shaded cafés, yet hot black sand, limited nursing or diaper facilities and hazardous waves shorten safe, comfortable beach time for babies.

Google
Reviews4.3/ 5
(from 1,160 reviews)

Positives:

  • Shallow play areas: Toddler-friendly splash zones and low-tide pools keep baby safe near water.
  • Stroller access: Firm sand at low tide lets you roll a pram right to the shoreline.

Challenges:

  • No changing facilities: Public beaches and most clubs lack baby-changing stations; bring a portable mat.
  • Strong surf: Currents can be strong; limit baby to splash areas and stay within arm’s reach.

What is so special about Canggu Beach for with baby?

  1. Splash Playground at Finns Rec Club offers safe water play for babies.
  2. Batu Bolong Beach’s low-tide sands are stroller-friendly.
  3. La Brisa Bali provides shade, a small pool, and a kids’ area.
  4. Bring a portable changing mat and rain cover if visiting in wet months.
  5. Arrive early to enjoy calm water and secure shaded seating.

It was a nice beach, but nothing particularly special. There are lots of restaurants around, and we did enjoy watching the dogs play, but overall, it was just an average experience.

The beach is really nice, fine sand, good waves and cool gentle breeze. Sunset was breathtaking. BUT there were alot of dogs roaming on the beach and they just pee and poo on it at will. The owners did not bother picking up the poo as well. That ruined the experience for me.

Great experience at Canggu Beach 🌊! I took a surfing lesson for 250,000 IDR for 2 hours 🏄‍♂️ – great instructor, very good teacher! It is also possible to rent a board alone for only 50,000 IDR. And the sunset here is simply magical 🌅… A must-do in Bali ✨

Sorry, this beach is nothing beautiful but filthy looking sand. We were lucky to catch some sunset despite the cloudy day. The vibe is so so to me despite the loud partying music playing in the background. I think the strong waves would appeal to the surfers out there. I’m sure they would appreciate the beach more than this sis, for sure. 😅😅😅

Winding down at Canggu Beach during sunset was everything I didn’t know I needed. The breeze, the sound of waves, the sky slowly turning gold, it all made me feel calm and present. Love itt!! Even more heartwarming? Seeing volunteers quietly cleaning the beach before sunset. Their care made the moment feel even more meaningful. Grateful for people who protect the beauty we all get to enjoy.
