How Baby-Friendly is Bali Zoo?

Infants are welcome, and parents get nursing rooms, change tables, stroller-friendly paths and optional pram rental; heat, stairs to some viewing decks and loud shows may unsettle a baby.

Considerations for visiting Bali Zoo (with baby)

Positives:

  • Feed & Change Before Exit: Use the air-conditioned baby-care room near Kampung Sumatra to feed or change your baby before heading out.
  • Back-to-Entrance Shuttle: Catch the shuttle back to the main gate so your baby can nap on the ride home.

Challenges:

  • Midday Heat: Open areas can get hot around noon. Keep baby cool with hats, light clothing and frequent water breaks.
  • Show Timings: Feeding demos at fixed times may clash with your baby’s nap schedule. Check times and plan ahead.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This allows time for gentle stroller walks, animal shows and breaks for feeding without rushing.

Baby-Friendly Activities in Bali Zoo

Stroller-Friendly Jungle Walk:

Explore wide, shaded trails by stroller while spotting tigers, orangutans and elephants.

Tip: Plan short walks between benches to rest and enjoy the views at your own pace.

Safari-Style Shuttle Ride:

Hop on the free park shuttle for a scenic loop and quick rest ride.

Tip: Use the shuttle to skip longer paths when the baby needs a break.

Animal Feeding Demonstrations:

Join keeper talks and feedings at 1 PM and 3:30 PM for close-up views of sun bears, birds and more.

Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early to secure a spot with room for your stroller.

Central Petting Zoo:

Enjoy a safe area to meet and feed goats, rabbits and deer.

Tip: Buy a small feed pack on arrival so you’re ready to feed the animals.

Great zoo, amazing experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our kids loved feeding the elephants and seeing the baby animals up close. There are lots of fun activities and beautiful places. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Bali!

A fun day out for the kids- just note: - much faster to book tickets online than walkin as otherwise it’s a bit of queue to get tickets, - there’s only 1 stroller for hire so don’t expect it to be available for use. Bring your own. - it’s well laid out and not too much walking so manageable for young kids. - there’s a big splash pool for kids - remember to bring the togs! Otherwise great fun and ...

The Bali zoo was a nice experience for my family 2 adults and a 13 year old. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of the animals they care for. The Animals we saw were very healthy and appeared well feed. In park transportation was quick from one section to the other. Walk ways were clean and clear. Safety of both people and animals is evident. If you decide you want to ride an Elephan...

Nice way to spend half a day, but we expected more The zoo is a pleasant place to visit and a decent option for spending a few hours, especially with kids. However, we had higher expectations — the variety of animals and overall layout didn’t quite live up to what we hoped for. Still, it’s clean, well-maintained, and worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Great service and a cool zoo to visit. Make sure to get the elephant mud bath package. Purchased breakfast with the orangutans but there was no interaction with them. They brought 1 out but everyone who was in the breakfast area had a chance to have a photo taken with him so the breakfast with orangutans was a miss sold experience, We had no extra interactions that a normal paying customer had so ...
