What makes it 84% Couple-Friendly: The long black-sand shore has sunrise views, shady picnic spots, and romantic seafood tavernas, yet it lacks luxury facilities or privacy cabanas, so it rates very well but not a must-visit honeymoon icon.
Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time for a sunrise walk, picnic, water sport lesson, and beachside dinner without rushing.
Sunrise Beach Walk:
Walk along the quiet black‐sand shore at dawn to watch the Aegean sunrise.
Tip: Bring a light jacket; use the eastern car park for easiest access.
Plane-Spotting:
Sit on the sand and watch small aircraft land at nearby Santorini airport.
Tip: Choose a spot near the water for unobstructed views; mornings are less windy.
Romantic Picnic under Tamarisk Trees:
Spread a blanket under shady tamarisks and enjoy local snacks.
Tip: Buy fresh pastries from the mini‐market (€2–€4 each) and pack chilled water.
Windsurfing Lesson:
Book a one‐hour windsurfing lesson to glide over shallow waters.
Tip: Reserve mornings when winds are gentle; instructors for beginners are available nearby.
Dinner at a Beachside Taverna:
Dine on grilled seafood and Greek meze as the sun sets over the sea.
Tip: Ask for a table facing west; expect €20–€30 per person.

Paralia Monolithos (Παραλία Μονόλιθος) is a serene beach on Santorini's east coast, perfect for families and relaxation. The black sand and shallow waters make it ideal for swimming, while the beach's quiet atmosphere offers a peaceful escape from busier tourist spots. Amenities include sunbeds, umbrellas, and nearby tavernas serving fresh seafood. Paralia Monolithos is a charming, tranquil destin...

Fabulous clean beach with super soft sand. Had fabulous time but did not pay whooping €15 per blue chair. We offered €10 for couple of hours but was not accepted. Loved the beach though. Calm and away from the crowds

Very good beach for families with kids, very shallow water (1,5 m after 200 m from shore), clean, black fine sand, with all amenities that tourists normally needs. I recommend it 100%!

Very good beach . There are 2 sides. One is with sports and deeper in the sea. We went the other side when it’s so windy, water is less deep. You need to walk more to reach deep water. Good for families with kids. Traditional taverna is nearby.
