What makes it 78% Solo-Friendly: A solo traveler can enjoy quiet black-sand scenery, snorkeling, and naturist sunbathing, but there is no lifeguard, limited shade, and only one taverna restroom, so self-sufficiency is required.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time to hike from Oia, explore the beach, snorkel, and return before sunset or midday heat.
Trail Hike from Oia:
Follow the coastal path down to Koloumpo Beach for views of cliffs and sea.
Tip: Start early for cooler temperatures and bring sturdy shoes and water.
Snorkeling Among Volcanic Rocks:
Swim over underwater rock formations hosting small fish and marine life.
Tip: Bring your own mask and snorkel to save €10–€15 on rentals.
Photography & Nature Walks:
Walk along the black-sand shore and nearby promontory for stark volcanic landscapes.
Tip: Carry a wide-angle lens and arrive at golden hour for dramatic shots.
Rock Formation Exploration:
Climb the nearby Cape Kolumbo for panoramic sea views and volcanic vents.
Tip: Use non-slip shoes and stay safe by avoiding loose rocks.
Sunbathing & Relaxation:
Find a quiet spot on the naturist-friendly beach to unwind solo.
Tip: Pack a small umbrella or shade sail since no umbrellas are provided.

Beautiful beach with soft black sand. Just a few minutes walk from the road, yet it feels very private and peaceful. Nudist-friendly, quiet, and perfect for relaxing away from the crowds.

Beautiful beach with a beautiful cliff. The wind swirls around and creates mini tornadoes, cool to see but a bit uncomfortable. Bring your watershoes. The sea was wild and there were some nudists.

Beautiful quiet unspoilt beach, no parasols or beach bars, so bring food and drink. A little bit of a scramble to get to but we'll worth it!

We walked here from Capo Colombo Beach. Lovely walk, mixture of sand and pebbles. Nice to dip toes in the sea and sunbathe, so quiet and peaceful, at one point we were the only ones on the beach!
Visit in May–June or September–October for mild weather and fewer day-trippers. In July–August, arrive before 10 AM to beat the heat.
