What makes it 62% Kids-Friendly: Older kids will like spotting ships through the rock hole and the walk is short, yet loose stones, sheer drops, and zero toilets mean constant hand-holding and a pre-visit restroom stop.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for the walk, photo stops, rock play, and a snack break without rushing kids.
Heart-shaped photo frame:
Walk the 10-minute path to the cliff hole and line up a heart-shaped view of the sea.
Tip: Stand the kids on the ledge and frame their heads with the rock opening for a fun shot.
Rock shape hunt:
Scan nearby cliffs for animal-shaped formations like rabbits or birds.
Tip: Give each child a list and a small prize when they spot all shapes to keep them engaged.
Tiny cave exploration:
Crawl into the small cave beside the heart opening to feel like real explorers.
Tip: Bring a small flashlight and have children go in two at a time while you watch closely.

Gorgeous picture spot! No one else was there except another couple, so we were able to take turns taking pictures of each other's groups. Cannot recommend enough!

Nice little picture spot but apart from the heart shaped natural opening for pictures, the place has amazing views. You can go pretty lower down from the top but the route is slippery, so careful. There is a small church nearby

This is a truly magical short hiking trail with stunning views over the caldera. There’s plenty of parking on the dirt area near the trailhead. It’s not a difficult hike, but like most trails in Santorini, it includes some steep inclines and declines. The unique rock formation is only a short walk away, and you can continue downhill to reach several small chapels. A highly recommended and enjoyabl...

Very cute spot! The drive was relative easy to get to, about 20 minutes from Fira. There is a slight slight hike down to the “heart of santorini” look out spot. The little hike isn’t bad but could be slightly slippery so i’d recommend bringing proper shoes, definitely not a sandals type of walk. The top (parking lot) part is also quite nice, great view to look at the cliffs and water.

A beautiful little spot, with a breathtaking view on the sea and the other side of Santorini. We went there on a Thursday, and had some luck to have the spot only for ourselves (for like 10 minutes). It was very windy that day, so we needed to hold tight. But it definitely did worth the visit. It feels different to be up there and to breathe in the atmosphere and the past of the island.
In summer, go before 10 am or after 5 pm to avoid heat. In spring/fall, dress in layers for cool sea breezes.
