  • Central location: A 5-minute walk from the Fira bus station and cable car terminal.

Challenges:

  • Limited signage: Labels are brief; audio or notes help fill gaps in context.
  • No café inside: No refreshments or seating beyond a single lobby bench; plan a café stop afterward.

This museum is a must see for lovers of the ancient world. The display cases are well organized and signage is all in Greek and English. The most remarkable exhibit is on the lower floor, with astonishing frescoes from Akrotiri.

The staff were not welcoming or friendly and said WiFi was for staff only. It is a also a pity that the best antiquities from S...
