Porta Medina Boutique Hotel (couple trip)

Really impressed with this hotel - service and response time incredible. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and comfy, close to port and variety of restaurants. Staff very accommodating. Perfect place to stay before and after our ferry to the islands. Only wish we could've stayed longer! Highly recommend.

The place is best described as Airbnb, than a hotel .It has a lot of character, it's an old house , renovated. There are 5 rooms, spacious. The beds - very confortable and clean, the bathrooms needs some repairing. The location is good, but it's in the city center and is very noisy until late at night. Personal is very helpful and friendly .

Great place to stay to see Knossos, the museums and Heraklion old town. Beautiful hotel with comfortable beds, large rooms for a family of 4-5. The host Thomas so welcoming and helpful. We had to leave for an early ferry and he had prepared us hot breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs and sweet bread to go by 7 a.m. and reserved us a car.

Able to book last minute in a great room, and the staff were extremely helpful. There is no parking nearby, so they grabbed our bags out of the car as we drove by. Absolutely lovely decor, comfy bed, good location in the old town, on a quieter off-street. Could be improved if they offered a small breakfast (pastries, fruit, coffee) in the morning as they do have a communal kitchen area.

Had a last minute request for an overnight stay (late Santorini-Heraklion Ferry), they accommodated us, gave us a great rate and during checkout we got an additional discount! The room was very old-new styled, clean, updated, and the old house (where the hotel is situated) is historic, built on too of a Venetian water well! Totally recommended! Close to a very good brunch place named Crop!
