Nice place to feel free in the middle of the town. The photos depicts the view on top of the city. The grave of the famous Cretan writer alongside the grave of his wife. Free entrance for all.

That is a beautiful place! You can see all of the city of Herakleion on top. The downside is that it could use some tender loving care. It needs cleaning and the greenery needs some water.

Visited Nikos Kazantzakis's grave to pay my respects, the legendary author of Zorba the Greek, which I bought years ago but still haven’t read (Guess it’s time to dive in). The view from the graveyard was stunning, I could see the sea and the village of Heraklion. It was worth visiting, even if you haven’t read his book yet.
