If you are a tourist or visitor to Heraklion forget trying to swim at this pool. Despite the name ‘municipal’ you are not allowed to swim here unless you are a member of their swimming club. I am an above average fast lap swimmer and when I tried today I was refused despite two lanes being free. I was actually advised to go to the beach!!!

This outdoor Olympic size pool was looking ideal to swim a few laps unfortunately it I closed until September (2017)
